OUGD504 Studio Brief 03 A Brief History Of... Icon Information and Links

OTo access all the information that the website has to offer I have devised a system of icons that apply to each walk. They have changed since the last post on this matter because I re evaluated the hierarch of information and what someone visiting the site would want to know and when.

I drew out a couple of ideas by hand but found that I needed to cattagoruse information first (you can see this at the bottom of this post) once I had done this the icons came very simply and naturally straight into a digital format. I wanted them to be simple and easy to understand because they are the way that the majority of the information on the website is conveyed.

The fist icon is taken from the plants which symbolise the walks themselves. This will provide a summary of the walk, including the length and what to expect.

This simple car symbol provides information about the nearest car parks to the beginning of the walk.

The bus symbol provides a link to a route planner that will allow people to find a bus route to the beginning of the walk.

This symbol is a simplified version of the coast hopper symbol which will reveal the locations of the coast hopper bus stops at all points along the walk which allows people to get back to their car after the walk.
This will provide a summary of the different food stops and small towns along and at the finish of the walks. There will be links to websites where available.

I ave already applied this categorising to the first walk and the result is in the photo below. The underlined section are where i will invert links.
