Type Journal OUGD404 Book Spine Type

This type seems to be hand renders in style and production origin because of the was the letters interact with one another it is very likely that this was created as a one off and a complete font version does not exist. Similar type can be found in graphic novels where the text is filled in by hand so it can fit a certain allocated space. In place of serifs this font has ink like swellings at the bottom of stems making it animated. A varied font such as this would only be produced again digitally because the bends and variations in spacing would be almost impossible to recreate with wood or metal type.
