Studio Brief 01 OUGD405 Improving the Photoshop Finish

One thing I was unhappy with when I first mocked up this design was the weakness of the depth of black in both the drawing and the photograph. To improve this I used a contrast adjustment layer to make the drawing layer darker and merge the layers so that the adjustment only effects this layer.
For the photograph layer I created a duplicate layer with a full opacity and remove it from around the seem between drawing and photograph so that the photograph beyond this point has a deeper colour.

The result of these changes are shown in the design below and I think this is much better.
